2 big things you can do right now!

1 Send emails and faxes to your senators with a couple clicks of the mouse! At the ACLU's website, you will find important topics that your representatives will soon be voting on. Influence their decisions, and/or show your support! The ACLU site lists numerous topics that affect our Civil Liberties--just click on a topic for a brief summary of the issue, and enter your zip code at the bottom.

You only have to fill in your info once if you click "Remember Me." After that it is only a couple of clicks per topic to send a fax or email to all of your representatives at once. You don't even have to know who your representatives are, the website will find them for you!

I combed through the whole website, and sent faxes on dozens of topics, all in one sitting. It took me a while, but boy was it satisfying!!!

2 Subscribe to an email newsletter to become an ongoing armchair-activist! MoveOn has a great one; very to-the-point, easy actions with potent results.

If you're looking for an online, reliable news source (that even I can bear to read on occasion), check out some of the sites below. My husband's favorites include Alternet, Buzzflash, and This Modern World. The Onion is a spoof news site, just to warn you! (Very funny.)
